This work deals with the mapping of the sector of "secular" (nonreligious) tourism, which, together with the development of religious tourism (Hajj, Umrah), is supposed to replace income from oil in the future. The work consists of two chapters, the first of which describes religious tourism as an integral part of tourism in Saudi Arabia, which is generally considered to be the main religious destination for Muslims from around the world. In the second chapter, the area of secular tourism is subsequently mapped, which became, after the economic diversification of the country led by Muḥammad ibn Salman, a key tool for the successful implementation of the development plans of Vision 2030. The literature used in this work consists of specialist literature in English as well as Arabic sources, such as media reports, statements or promotional materials. Keywords Saudi Arabia, transformation, Vision 2030, reform, tourism, modernization, petroleum Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
