Case Study of The Physiotherapeutic Treatment of a Patient with Polytrauma; Recurrent Central Vestibular Syndrome

Abstract

The aim of the following thesis is to present the case study of a patient during the rehabilitation process with a diagnosis of polytrauma; recurrent central vestibular syndrome, with special mention to diffused axonal injury from polytrauma. The document is divided into two (2) parts the general/theoretical part and the practical or case study part. The general/theoretical part consist of an introduction of polytrauma and recurrent central vestibular syndrome/dysfunction, followed with characteristics of the disease; epidemiology; etiopathogenesis; incidence; pathokinesiological consequences for the musculoskeletal system; classification; clinical examination; therapy / treatment; pharmacotherapy; conservative treatment; or surgical treatment; examination methods performed by a physiotherapist; physiotherapeutic methods and procedures; physical therapy; occupational therapy; regime measures and prognosis. In conclusion of the general/theoretical part is the effect of therapeutic approaches and procedures with high level of medical based evidence for therapy. Cílem následující práce je prezentovat případovou studii pacienta během rehabilitačního procesu s diagnózou polytraumatu; rekurentního centrálního vestibulárního syndromu, se zvláštní zmínkou o difuzovaném axonálním poranění z polytraumatu. Dokument je rozdělen na dvě (2) části obecnou/teoretickou a část praktickou nebo případovou. Obecná/teoretická část se skládá ze zavedení polytraumatu a rekurentního centrálního vestibulárního syndromu/dysfunkce s charakteristikami nemoci, epidemiologie, etiopathogeneze, incidence, patokineziologických důsledků pro pohybový systém, klasifikace, klinické vyšetření, terapie/léčba, farmakoterapie, konzervativní léčba nebo chirurgická léčba, vyšetřovací metody prováděné fyzioterapeutem, fyzioterapeutické metody a postupy, fyzikální terapie, pracovní terapie, režimní opatření a prognóza. Závěrem obecné/teoretické části je efekt léčebných přístupů a postupů s vysokou úrovní medicínsky podložených důkazů pro terapii. Druhou část tvoří případová studie, která zahrnuje anamnézu pacienta, úvodní a závěrečnou kineziologickou prohlídku s porovnáním účinku terapie na reflektor, krátkodobý a dlouhodobý léčebný plán, vyhodnocení terapie a osobní závěr.
