V rytmu Lorienu: Náboženství v současném českém komunitě

Abstract

This master thesis aims to describe the Lorien community, find out if it can be seen as a religious community, if it serves as a client cult, if it can be described as the centre of contemporary alternative spirituality and if common beliefs and practises increase the trust between community members. The first, theoretical part of this thesis defines the term 'community' and summarises M. Scott Peck's book, The Different Drum, as community members still try to communicate with each other according to its principles. The thesis will also show the relationship between religion and spirituality, and briefly characterise the New Age milieu, as its thoughts are present in the Lorien.At the end of the first part, the thesis focuses on research dealing with the cohesion of different groups and their common practices and beliefs. The second, practical part includes field research by the author of this thesis. Data were collected by participant observation and the method of semi-structured interviews with selected members of the Lorien community. We will find out from them the importance that the inhabitants attach to their community, common practices, and their own religious ideas. Tato diplomová práce si klade za úkol popsat komunitu Lorien, určit, zdali se jedná o komunitu náboženskou, zdali někomu slouží jako klientský kult, jestli ji lze označit za centrum současné alternativní spirituality, a jestli společné aktivity a sdílené představy zvyšují vzájemnou důvěru členů komunity. První, teoretická část práce je zaměřena na definování termínu komunita a shrnutí knihy M. Scotta Pecka V jiném rytmu, jejímiž principy se dodnes členové komunity snaží řídit při vzájemné komunikaci. Následně usouvztažní termíny náboženství a spiritualita a stručně představí new age milieu, jehož myšlenky jsou ve společenství patrné. Na závěr první části se bude věnovat výzkumům zabývajícím se skupinovou soudržností členů různých společenství s ohledem na jejich společnou praxi a představy. Druhá, praktická část bude vycházet z terénního výzkumu autora této práce. Dostupná data byla získána pomocí zúčastněného pozorování a polo-strukturovaných rozhovorů s vybranými obyvateli komunity Lorien. Zjistíme z nich, jaký význam přikládají obyvatelé své komunitě, společným praktikám a svým vlastním náboženským představám. V závěru druhé části shrneme data získaná v komunitě, aplikujeme na ně teorie představené v první části a dozvíme se, že se na všechny naše výzkumné otázky dá odpovědět v zásadě kladně....
