Sakrální terakotová architektura Mallabhúmského království

Abstract

Bakalářská práce se zabývá terakotovou architekturou višnuistických chrámů ve městě Višnupur. Jejím cílem je představit tento typ stavebního umění. V první části je Višnupur zasazen geograficky a historicky, zejména v době vlády rodu Malla, jehož genealogie je načrtnuta od 7. do 17. století. Následující části představují architektonický popis a náboženský význam terakotových chrámů od jejich zrodu až do 17. století. Části jsou doplněné o výklad dekorativních výjevů a reliéfů na vnějších stěnách, kde každá z intepretací je doložena ukázkou vizuální i literární. Závěr bakalářské práce posuzuje architekturu višnupurských terakotových chrámů ve srovnání s jednotlivými styly a designů ostatních hinduistických chrámů. This bachelor thesis discusses terracotta architecture of the vaishnava temples in the city of Vishnupur. Its goal is to present this type of architectural art. In the first part, Vishnupur is set in geographical location and historical era, especially during the times of the Malla reign, whose genealogy is outlined from the 7th to the 17th century. The following parts consist of architectual descriptions and religious importance of terracotta temples from their origin till the 17th century. Chapters also include interpretation of decorative motives and reliefs on the outer walls, where each of the interpretations is accompanied by illustrations both visual and literal. The conclusion of the bachelor thesis assesses the architecture of the Vishnupur temples in the context of each individual style and design of other hindu temples and summarizes the subject.
