České půjčovny knih 1781-1848

Abstract

Předmětem této bakalářské práce je představení dějin půjčoven knih na českém území v -1848. První část nastiňuje historický kontext daného období v českých a německých zemích. Zmíněna je rovněž situace na knižním trhu a vývoj knihoven v 18. století. V dalších kapitolách jsou popsány okolnosti vzniku půjčoven knih, fáze jejich vývoje a zahrnuta je rovněž jejich cenzura u vídeňského dvora. Stěžejní část práce tvoří podrobný popis nejvýznamnějších podniků tohoto typu na českém území se zaměřením na složení jejich fondů. Zařazeny jsou také půjčovny hudebnin a pokoutní půjčovny knih. Práce se dále věnuje půjčovnám knih na německém území a jejich následnému srovnání s půjčovnami českými.

The aim of this thesis is to present the history of book rentals in the Czech Lands during the years 1781-1848. The first part covers the historical context of this time period. The situation of the book market is mentioned, together with the development of libraries in the 18th century. The following chapters focus on the factors leading to the uprise of book rentals, their development, and the censorship by the Viennese royal court. The main part of the thesis contains a detailed description of the most important establishments of this type in the Czech Lands with the focus headed towards the structure of their collections. Printed music and under- the-counter rentals are included as well. Furthermore, the thesis aspires to describe book rentals in the German lands and to compare them with those in the Czech territory.
