Abstract

This work Dorotheos of Gaza and Columbanus of Bobbio: comparison of monastic spirituality presents the ascetic ways of monastic life two persons Abba Dorotheos of Gaza and celtic monk Columbanus of Bobbio. Abba Dorotheos of Gaza lived in the monastery Abba Serid near Gaza. Dorotheos was Christian monk and later on the igumen. He was influenced by the elders Barsanuphius and John the Prophet. He founded around 540 his own monastery nearby and became igumen there. He wrote his famous Spiritual Discourses and several Letters and 87 Questions with written Answers by Sts Barsanuphius the Great and John the Prophet. The Discourses deal with the inner Christian life. St. Dorotheos of Gaza belongs to Palestine monasticism of the 6th century and to the Fathers of the Desert. Columban of Bobbio was a sixth-century Irish monk who compiled a written rule of life for three monasteries he founded in France: Annegray, Luxeuil, and Fontaine. He was monastic founder through Western Europe, as well as the monastic movement initiated by him and his Frankish successors in the Merovingian kingdoms. Columbanus has written Regula Monachorum, Regula Coenobialis, Paenitentiale, Regula Walberti, Carmina and so on. Podaná rigorózní práce Dorotheos z Gazy a Kolumbánus z Bobbia: srovnání mnišské spirituality předkládá v osmi kapitolách teze, k čemu patrně na základě předběžného studia dospějeme ve stejnojmenné disertaci. Přináší hypotézy, okruhy problémů a otázek, jež by měly být posléze řešeny ve zmíněné doktorské práci. Teze se zabývají literárními pozůstalostmi Dorothea z Gazy (†560/580) a Kolumbána z Bobbia (†615). Komparací a dalšími metodami srovnávají mnišskou spiritualitu a teologii Abba Dorothea z Gazy a Kolumbána z Bobbia. První náleží k palestinskému mnišství, a tedy k blízkovýchodnímu křesťanství, druhý ke keltskému monasticismu, tj. latinskému, západnímu křesťanství. Dorotheos psal řecky, Kolumbán latinsky. Rigorózní práce podává hlubší náčrt problematiky, řešené v zamýšlené disertaci. Díla obou autorů zažívají v současnosti velký zájem ze strany badatelů a také mnichů či křesťanských laiků, kteří se jejich duchovností inspirují a pokoušejí se ji žít ve svých osobních životech.
