Ernst Sommer a karlovarské snahy o usmíření mezi Čechy a Němci za 1. republiky

Abstract

This paper examines the following texts: Sprachenhass, Hakenkreuz, Die Verständigung and Die Templer, all written by Ernst Sommer in the 20's and 30's in Carlsbad. This region became in the 30's notorious for Hitler's support and attempts to destroy the Czechoslovak Republic. That is why we inquire into the origin and character of these texts written in German that aimed at settlement of national issues and reconciliation of Czech and German speaking population in the frame of the Czechslovak Republic. The texts are set into historical and regional background that shows clearly the difficulties of this period dooming all Sommer's activities to fail. Tato práce se věnuje rozboru textů (Sprachenhass, Hakenkreuz, Die Verständigung a Die Templer) napsaných Ernstem Sommerem ve dvacátých a třicátých letech 20. století v Karlových Varech. Karlovy Vary se staly zejména ve 30. letech baštou henleinovců a stupňujících se požadavků sudetských Němců. Práce si proto klade otázku po původu těchto německy psaných textů usilujících naopak o česko německé usmíření. Texty jsou zasazeny do historicko regionálního kontextu meziválečného karlovarska, což vykresluje obraz doby, v níž nadnárodní porozumění bylo obzvláště složité.
