Václav Groul a jeho malířské dílo

Abstract

Václav Groul and his painting work The bachelor thesis will be devoted to Václav Groul's personality. It will focus on his artwork and try to explain his painting work. At first, the thesis introduces art brut and then summarizes the available facts from his life and work. Further it will illustrate possible sources of inspiration. These obviously became from the reading of spiritist pioneer Allan Kardek (Book of Ghosts). At the sight of his work, there is also a certain, probably unconscious, connection with mandal creators and the work of Carl Gustav Jung. Last but not least in his work may also be the impact of his profession-he was a tailor, in which he could meet the ornament more closely. Václav Groula could have been interested in numerical symbolism and work with symbols appearing in some of his paintings. The aim of the thesis is to summarize factual information about his life, to interpret the work of this extraordinary author and to determine his position among other artists of art brut.

Bakalářská práce bude věnována osobnosti Václava Groula. Zaměří se na jeho výtvarnou tvorbu a pokusí se o výklad jeho malířského díla. Nejprve práce představí tvorbu art brut a poté shrne dostupná fakta z jeho života a tvorby. Dále ozřejmí možné inspirační zdroje. Těmi se evidentně stala četba průkopníka spiritismu Allana Kardeka (Kniha duchů). Při pohledu na jeho tvorbu je rovněž patrná jistá, pravděpodobně neuvědomělá, souvislost s tvůrci mandal a s dílem Carla Gustava Junga. V neposlední řadě může být v jeho díle i dopad profese pánského krejčího, ve které se mohl blíže setkat s ornamentem. Václava Groula pravděpodobně mohla zajímat také číselná symbolika a práce se symboly, objevující se v některých jeho obrazech. Cílem práce je shrnout faktické informace o jeho životě, interpretovat dílo tohoto nevšedního autora a potvrdit jeho postavení mezi ostatními tvůrci art brut.
