dc.description.abstract | Based on a unique bimetallic coinage system, an extensive coin production occurred in Central Europe in the Amber Road region, after the middle of the 3rd century BC. The entire area is characterised by uniformity of the coinage in multiple production sites. The ability to formulate a complex economic programme and, in particular, the implementation of such a programme for a long time, spanning several generations, and maintaining it politically as well as logistically, is a testimony of a strong central authority. | en_US |
