Studie zdůrazňuje zejména Dennistonem řízenou transformaci GC&CS v efektivní organizaci navzdory nedostatku finančních zdrojů, pokračující zveřejňováním dešifrovaných zpráv britskou vládou a rozhodnutí ministerstva financí zastavit veškerý vývoj spojený s šifrovacími stroji. Navzdory nespočtu úspěchů je Dennistonovo vedení často posuzováno pouze podle krize, jíž si GC&CS prošel především v roce 1941. Autor v závěru článku celkově hodnotí (vesměs pozitivně) roli, kterou Alastair Guthrie Denniston hrál ve vývoji GC&CS.; The main aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive understanding of development of the Great Britain’s Government Code and Cypher School (GC&CS) under the sometimes controversial leadership of Alastair Guthrie Denniston from 1919 to 1942. Article underlines that Denniston managed to turn GC&CS into an effective organization in defiance of the lack of funding, continuous publications of decrypted messages by the British cabinet, and Treasury’s decision to halt all research related to the development of a cypher machine. Despite numerous successes has been Denniston’s leadership often judged only according to the period of GC&CS’s administrative crisis particularly in 1941. Ve volbách v roce 1965 z něj ještě těžil, když byl označován za „volební lokomotivu“, o rok později se však ukázalo, že tato „lokomotiva“ vykolejila.; The article describes several elections in which the German Chancellor Ludwig Erhard played an important role. While the vote of 1965 brought Erhard to the top of the political landscape, regional elections in the following year contributed to his downfall. Erhard had earned himself significant respect when he served as the Minister for Economics, and this stood him in good stead in the 1965 federal election, when he was labeled as the ‘electoral locomotive’. Začala v březnu 1984 kvůli sporu o uzavírání šachet. Dobře připravená vláda odmítla ustoupit tlaku horníků, což mělo za následek rekordní dlouhou dobu stávky. Díky připravenosti vlády a taktickým i strategickým chybám vedení horníků nakonec stávka selhala. Tím byla v Británii zlomena moc odborů a konzervativní vláda mohla pokračovat ve svých reformách.; The miners’ strike of 1984–1985 is a political turning point in the history of post-war Britain. It began in March 1984 as a reaction to pit closures. Well prepared Government refused to give in to the miners’ pressure, which led to a record length strike. Thanks to Government preparedness and to tactical and strategic mistakes of the miners’ leadership the strike failed. Příspěvek k dějinám barové kultury a fenoménu American Bar v evropských metropolích v meziválečném období Mozr, Tomáš Studie pojednává o formování evropské barové scény v meziválečném období v rámci specifického fenoménu zábavy, jímž byl tzv. American Bar, který se stal symbolickým centrem pro společenská setkání elit, ale také palivem sociálního pokroku jako otevřeného prostoru pro komunikaci mezi pohlavími. Hlavní náplní studie je zaměření se na rozbor instituce American Bar jako složky v procesu „amerikanizace“ za pomoci komparace vývoje sledovaného fenoménu v evropských metropolích. Autor v něm nastiňuje jednotlivé nuance a rozdíly z mnoha různých hledisek skrze celkovou atmosféru barového prostředí, formy propagace baru, spolkovou činnost, legislativní ohlasy, běžný chod baru, jeho profesionální složku a jeho každodenní socio-kulturní vliv na život konzumentů. Pro analýzu vývoje fenoménu byly zvoleny Londýn a Berlín jako dvě velkoměsta, v nichž se realizace poválečného cítění a intenzita projevů nové vlny požitkářství související se zvyšující se životní úrovní dostávaly významně do rozporů. American Bar by proto měl být, navzdory určitým společným zákonitostem, vnímán v každém prostředí jako zcela unikátní projev společensko-zábavního záznamu jedné dějinné éry.; This study deals with the formation of the European bar scene in the interwar period in the context of a specific phenomenon of entertainment, so called the American Bar which became the symbolic point of social gathering for elites. However, it was the fuel of social progress as an open forum for communication between genders as well. The main part focuses on a comprehensive analysis of the American Bar and its development as the component in the process of “Amerikanization”, based on the comparison of European cities. It also outlines the various nuances and differences from many perspectives through overall atmosphere of the bar, forms of bar promotion, the activities of associations, legislative responses, the normal operations of the bar, the professional part of the bar and the everyday socio-cultural impact on the lives of consumers. For an analysis of the phenomenon were chosen London and Berlin as two metropolis in which the implementaition and intensity of post-war feelings and the option for the new wave of hedonism associated with rising living standards could be seen in significant contradictions. That is why, despite some common patterns, American Bar should be percieved in any location as a completely unique manifestation for socioentertainment evidence of one historical era. 2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
